When I’m not using data to inform business decisions, you can find me enjoying life in British Columbia. Some passions include:
- Community (family & friends)
- Boardgames (favourites include Race for the Galaxy, Concordia, Pandemic Legacy, and Spirit Island)
- Exploring new food, both at restaurants and in the kitchen
- Sci-fi (reading and watching, right now I’m obsessed with The Expanse)
- Tea (in particular, Taiwanese style oolongs)
- Light hikes outdoors in the mountains
- Music (I play the piano and harp well, and dabble in guitar, mandolin, banjo and more)
- Knitting and crocheting
The rest of the time, I am a data scientist who loves discovering stories and insights in data. I currently work as a Senior Data & Applied Scientist at Microsoft.
I enjoy using statistics, machine learning, and data visualization to uncover actionable insights regardless of industry. I especially enjoy projects which push the limits of my expertise, challenging me to expand my depth and breadth of knowledge.
With extensive experience with R, Python, SQL, and more, I’m always excited to explore new modelling options and analytical approaches. Rather than focus on the approach, I like to focus on the question: What do you want to learn, and what questions are you seeking answers for that will drive your business to success?
